The Blue-Flag beach of Neoi Poroi is wide, sandy and shallow far out, so the water is calm and warm — perfect for children and for anyone who likes to swim without surprises. Lifeguards are on duty on the main beach in high season.
A handful of relaxed beach bars line the shore. Sunbeds and music during the day, cocktails as the sun goes down behind Olympus, and an easy, unhurried evening scene rather than loud club nightlife.
Fresh fish and classic Greek cooking in the village and along the promenade, from simple grill houses to family tavernas with tables under the tamarisk trees. Nearby Gritsa is particularly known for its seafood.
The seaside promenade is where the village meets in the evening: a slow stroll along the water, an ice cream or a frappé, small shops for beach things, souvenirs and local products.
Stand-up paddleboards, pedal boats and similar activities are available on the main beach during the summer. Operators and offerings change from season to season — ask us and we will point you to what is running.
Hike Mount Olympus and the Enipeas Gorge from Litochoro, climb up to the Byzantine castle of Platamonas, wander the sanctuaries and mosaics of Ancient Dion, or take a longer day trip to Meteora or Thessaloniki.

Open-air concerts and theatre at Platamonas Castle and in Dion throughout July and August — a magical setting above the sea.
