The village and its beach
Neoi Poroi is best known for its beach: around five kilometres of wide, golden sand awarded the Blue Flag for water quality and safety.
The water is crystal clear and stays shallow for a long way out, so it warms up early in the season and is safe and easy for children — one of the reasons so many families choose this stretch of coast. Lifeguards watch the main beach in high season.
Along the sand you will find relaxed beach bars, and there are also free umbrellas and sun chairs for guests who prefer to bring their own towel and book. Watersports operate on the main beach through the summer.
Between our house and the sea there is a green playground and 50 metres of golden sand — children can go from the terrace to the water without crossing anything busy. The supermarket is in our own building; the bakeries, kiosk, cafés and tavernas of the village are two to four minutes on foot.
Just outside the village lies the wetland of Neoi Poroi, a small protected area of reeds and lagoons that is well worth an early morning walk for birdwatching.

You do not need a car for daily life here: the supermarket is inside our own building at Olympou 62, and the bakeries, the pharmacy and the playground are all a few minutes away on foot.

Almost everything in Neoi Poroi is within walking distance — here are the routes our guests use most, with realistic walking times for a relaxed pace.
1 min · 50 m
Straight out of the front door, past the playground and you are on the golden sand. No road to cross, gentle shallow water — ideal with children.
20–30 min · 1.5 km
Flat paved promenade along the sea, past beach bars, tavernas and the small harbour area — the classic evening walk with an ice cream.
15 min · 900 m
Church square, Corner Bakery and Bakery Theros and the tavernas of the old village centre — a loop you can do before breakfast.
35–50 min one way (or 5 min by car)
Along the coastal path towards Platamonas, then up the signposted castle path. Steep in the last section, but the view over the Aegean and Mount Olympus is worth every step.
All times are for a comfortable stroll. The promenade and the village streets are flat and easy with prams, wheeled walkers or wheeled beach carts; the castle path in Platamonas is the only steep section.
